Although the main focus at this point in my life is being a Mom to two amazing and talented children, a life-long love of music and drama has led me to always be thinking about the next creative endeavor.
Over the years I have fronted bands both here in Minneapolis and in Los Angeles, California. My interest in writing has produced a screenplay, a children’s story and my on-going work as a discussion leader for the web site MomsLikeMe.com. I have also done voiceover work for various web, radio and film projects.
The name ‘Metal Mommy’ obviously comes from my years of experience performing in rock/metal bands and from my everlasting love of heavy music. However I’ve come to realize that the moniker also has another meaning for me. I think being ‘metal’ is living life to it’s fullest, trying new things, facing things head-on that you may not want to face….like the genre of music implies, living loud. Being ‘metal’ is something I strive to do every day!
